Civil Engineering consist of designing and implementing large scale environmental projects 
such as erosion control or land development for commercial usage. Frequently land development produces more run off from impermeable surfaces such as concrete and increases water’s velocity since there are fewer natural obstacles from the developed terrain. Stormwater must be properly handled and routed or the result will be excessive run off and the eventual decay of surrounding land and silting of nearby rivers and lakes. A properly designed erosion and stormwater plan, on the other hand, can effectively prevent soil erosion and control run off at the same time.
