CO2 INJECTION
A CO2 sensor monitors the ambient CO2 and turns on a generator (or a solenoid for bottled CO2) to maintain the level set on the CO2 ppm adjustment knob.  The CO2 is turned off when the exhaust fan turns on, or when the photocell sensor detects night.

DEHUMIDIFICATION
The system can be programmed to operate the vent fan or dehumidifier to prevent unwanted moisture accumulation.

HUMIDIFICATION
Not enough humidity can be just as bad as too much humidity.  Heating and air conditioning can dry out a grow room very quickly, so in those situations a humidifier may be necessary.

NUTRIENT SOLUTION CONTROL AND DELIVERY SYSTEM:
An accurate and reliable nutrient delivery system is crucial to the success of an unattended control system.  pH, nutrients (measured as ppm total dissolved solids) and temperature are constantly monitored and adjusted to maintain exact settings.

pH, PPM and Temperature Sample Loop
A sample pump draws nutrient solution out of the tank and over the sensors that are plumbed in line.  This design has several advantages: 1) the biological growth that can lead to false sensor readings is reduced; 2) the solution in the tank is stirred by the circulating water, insuring complete mixing of the nutrients.

pH ADJUSTMENTS:
The pH adjusting solution is added whenever the pH goes out of the control setpoint range.  Depending on your situation, only one pH metering pump or solenoid may be required.  For instance, if rockwool is the growing media, usually only the addition of an acid is required to correct for it's alkaline nature.  Pearlite or other pH neutral media may require both acid and base injection.

NUTRIENT ADJUSTMENTS:
Nutrients are injected whenever necessary.  One or more nutrient metering pumps draw from one or more tanks, depending on the nutrient formula requirements (some are one part formulas, others are two or three).

Makeup Water Supply
Water is added to make up for the loss to transpiration and evaporation.  Water levels are sensed with a float switch, and water is injected with a solenoid valve.  The makeup water is also used to reduce the nutrient concentration as it builds up over time due to evaporation.  The conductivity sensor automatically detects low nutrient levels and will instruct the controller to add nutrients as necessary.

Nutrient Delivery Pump Timer
The main pump is run from a 24 hour timer with 32 on and 32 off settings.  You program the punp to operate at any time of the day or night, with a 2 second setting resolution.
